The optimization module OPTIM represents the core of the
Transport Efficiency Support System. It contains efficient algorithms which
embrace the various parameters of the individual transport situations. These
algorithms are used in certain combinations according to the tasks to be fulfilled.
OPTIM re-optimizes all job assignments after every change in the transport situation
with the aim of:
shortening transport routes by creating collective transports from several single
orders
avoiding deadheadings
by creating an optimum sequence of transport orders completing
transports
on schedule and of
equalizing peak periods by taking into account order deadline buffers
achieving the optimum,
i. e. minimum occupation of capacities like slots, containers,
trailers etc.
