In future, the software SyncroTESS of the Aachen system house INFORM will manage and optimise the many-sided handling processes at the terminal of Neuss Trimodal GmbH. Introduced under the project name of TTMS (Trimodal Terminal Management System), the software will be fully up and running by January 2011. On the 130000 sqm terminal premises, the system will manage the transport of up to 450,000 loading units a year.
With the installation of the system, Neuss Trimodal GmbH primarily wants to reduce their handling times, as well as through-put times for the HGVs in the terminal. Therefore, the TTMS will optimized manage all future handling processes regarding rail, road and ship modes of transport. Moreover, the system also manages all of the processes within the terminal, such as on-site transport, offloading and storage, service assignments like heating and cooling as well as repair of damaged loading units. Following the introduction of TTMS, resources within the terminal, such as reach stackers, quay cranes and on-site vehicles will also communicate with the system via RDT, as well as the on-site employees and field staff.
Since Rhenus AG & Co. KG started using SyncroTESS at five of their trimodal inland terminals, important modules have been added to the system, such as their own booking and invoicing systems at the Kombi-Terminal Ludwigshafen GmbH. “With the introduction of TTMS at Neuss Trimodal GmbH, we can add more functions to the system and hence further expand our market position as a supplier of systems for container transport and terminal process optimisation”, says Dr.-Ing. Eva Savelsberg, Head of Intermodal Solutions at INFORM GmbH.
