Optimised loading in the cement works and depots of Lafarge Ciment (Romania)
Lafarge, the world leader in building materials, is now optimising the order scheduling of its products in all Romanian cement works and depots with SyncroTESS.
SyncroTESS has been optimising the loading of up to 1,000 trucks per day since April of this year. All orders taken via the ERP system are planned by the SyncroTESS optimisation. Amongs many other constraints, the availability of the individual product, available transport capacities and requirements on the loading technology are taken into account. The individual loads are assigned to carriers on the basis of contracts maintained in the system.
Customers are informed of the planned delivery on site time or their loading time slots - for ex-works orders - by SMS or email. In the cement works and depots SyncroTESS controls by means of external displays the calling of drivers to the various loading points.. By doing so traffic congestions within the sites as well as health and safety issues arising from parking and waiting trucks are reduced.
SyncroTESS is used in the Lafarge group by several business units in Europe to optimise the logistics for cement, aggregates & asphalt as well as ready-mix concrete. |
