SyncroTESS Module ItemControl improves dispatch planning at Audi AG

The SyncroTESS system has already been controlling the entire internal flow of materials for vehicle assembly at the works in Ingolstadt of automotive manufacturer Audi for the last several years. This includes incoming goods, stockpiling and removal up to supplies for production and delivery to the belt as well as the transportation of empty containers and recoverable materials.

The module ItemControl for the optimised dispatch of passive transport units has now been introduced at the Ingolstadt site within the scope of a prototype project. This supports and improves dispatch planning of empties collections. Hereby ItemControl determines the current stocks of empties based on the production program and receives information on empties demand from the suppliers. The stocks are also constantly updated in a graphic interface even after successful dispatch planning, thus helping to avoid lost trips due to a lack of empties and truck jams at the loading points in the works.

The ItemControl module allows the location and optimum material planning of passive transport units such as wagons, trailers, containers, platforms, racks or boxes and thus allows an optimised use and hence reduced stocks.
