SyncroTESS successfully in use at MTU Aero Engines GmbH, Munich since 10 Years

For more than 10 years SyncroTESS has been used as transport control system at the Munich site of MTU Aero Engines GmbH. The nationally and internationally working firm is specialized in developing, manufacturing and repairing any and all of the components that make up civil or military engines . MTU is Germany's leading manufacturer of engine modules and components and of complete aero engines. With a workforce of 5,500 employees, MTU's headquarters Munich is at the same time MTU's largest site.

The system SyncroTESS put into operation in 1995 controls 20 vehicles (fork lift trucks and electric tractors) and aims at an optimized use of vehicles and trailers, a reduction of empty traveling and a minimization of distances. The transport orders taken directly from the PPC-system are divided into a multi-stage transport chain, if necessary. The orders are transmitted to the drivers via a data radio system provided by Cattron-Theimeg.

In the course of this year the whole system will be changed over to the newest version SyncroTESS 8.0. This implies a change over to an Oracle database, a new graphic and schematic display of the facility including the display of the transport network, the loading places and all mobile units as vehicles and trailers.
