Basel MultiTerminal employs SyncroTESS as terminal management system

Basel MultiTerminal AG is a subsidiary of Rhenus Alpina AG. The Rhenus Alpina group offers a complete range of logistics solutions under one corporate roof: warehouse logistics, port logistics, container transport and air handling.

In addition to the trimodal transport of containers (truck / rail / barge) and the combined transport of swap bodies (truck / rail), BMT offers extensive services in the field of empty container management (storage, repair, leasing etc.). BMT clients include forwarding agents, shipping companies and leasing companies.

Since March this year, SyncroTESS has been successfully employed as an operative terminal management system at BMT. Containers are managed with slot-level accuracy, terminal owned resources are controlled and the timely execution of terminal orders is ensured. SyncroTESS continuously communicates with the terminal order system (TAS), which has been developed by Rhenus. Not only does SyncroTESS optimize terminal activities (e.g. automated slot allocation, selection of depot containers according to the FIFO-rule), it also provides the terminal operator with a high transparency of the current and planned terminal situation due to the visualization of the overall terminal layout. Moreover, the close interaction with the order system offers the client a variety of services as well as the possibility of generating analyses for further optimization of the complete transport chain.
