Intelligent truck  transport control - INFORM also optimises transport at the BMW AG sites in Leipzig and Wackersdorf

The intelligent SyncroSupply software solution has been optimising truck deliveries at BMW’s Leipzig and Wackersdorf sites since October 2006.

SyncroSupply synchronises truck deliveries with loading point capacities and time-critical production requirements at the site – the harmonisation of external supply with internal demand.

For just over a year, the automobile manufacturer has been deploying the optimisation tool from Aachener Inform GmbH at its production facilities in Munich, Regensburg and Dingolfing. SyncroSupply now controls a total of over 1000 truck deliveries daily and has significantly reduced stationary and process cycle times. Optimisation of route planning for empty miles and increased inward/outward transparency was achieved as expected. Unscheduled shift overtime for full/empty miles are practically a thing of the past. Even preceding suppliers benefit in this process from the fixed collection times of hauliers. All in all a great success for every party involved – and for more driving enjoyment.
